Restaurant point of sale
Tunder is a point of sale app for restaurants and cafés, built with Flutter. Our team built a robust printing framework and a custom design system, and shipped many of the app's core flows to a high standard of quality, across a wide range of form factors and screen sizes.
The problem
One codebase, every screen size a venue might put on its counter, from a phone taking orders at the table to a full tablet till. Cross-platform makes that possible and makes layout the permanent problem: a receipt still has to print correctly and a keypad still has to be reachable, on hardware the team has never seen.
What we built
Not a feature list, the pieces that had to exist for the product to do what it claims.
Receipt and kitchen printing built as a reusable framework rather than a per-screen concern, so output stays consistent across the app and new receipt types don't start from scratch.
A component library carrying the app's colours, spacing and typography, so screens shipped by different people at different times still look like one product.
Item and category management with discounting, laid out for speed of selection during service.
Staff profiles with defined access rights, so the till can be handed to anyone on shift without handing over everything.
Dashboard and sales views broken down by item, session, tax and payment type, with spreadsheet export for whoever does the books.
Many of the app's central journeys, built to hold up from a handheld device to a counter-mounted tablet.

Treating it as shared infrastructure (with its own structure for how a receipt is composed) is what lets the rest of the app move quickly without every change risking the one output the customer physically holds.
