Ai13

Voice AI product site & live demo

Ai13 sells voice agents that handle the calls a business doesn't have time to take, bookings, orders, first-line support. The hardest thing to convey about a voice agent is what it sounds like, so the site doesn't try. You enter your number and the agent calls you, in the vertical you picked, in the voice you picked.

The problem

Problem.

A page can describe a voice agent, or it can be one. Making the demo real turned a marketing site into something with a live telephony integration inside it, which meant handling international numbers, routing each vertical to the right agent, letting a visitor choose a voice, and passing enough context that the agent knows who it's calling and why, all from a form on a landing page.

What we built

Solutions.

Not a feature list, the pieces that had to exist for the product to do what it claims.

01

A demo that calls you back

Enter a number on the landing page or the demo page and an outbound call is placed to it. No sandbox, no sample recording, the actual product, dialling your actual phone.

02

A different agent per vertical

Food ordering, reservations, sales and customer support each route to their own configured assistant, so the demo you hear is the one that matches what you came to find out about.

03

Choose the voice before it speaks

Male and female personas, with the voice overridden at call time rather than baked into the agent, so one assistant configuration serves both.

04

Context handed to the agent at dial time

Name, sector, referral source and call type are passed into the call, so the agent opens knowing who picked up instead of starting from nothing.

05

Call yourself, or call someone else

Two flows with different validation and different assistants, including a nineteen-country dial-code picker and strict E.164 validation, because a demo that fails on a badly formatted number is a lost lead.

06

Three solution pages and the site around them

Appointments, e-commerce payments and first-line support, each with its own FAQ, plus contact, cookie consent, and the conditional layout shell holding it together.

07

Motion as part of the argument

Scroll-driven section navigation on the demos page with viewport-centre tracking and a manual-scroll lockout, over smooth scrolling, the site moves the way the product is meant to feel.

They turned the hardest thing to explain about a voice agent, what it sounds like, into the first thing you experience on the page. It calls you back in the voice you picked, and that one interaction sells the product better than any amount of copy.

Under the hood

The parts that were genuinely hard.

01

What we built, and what we didn't

Worth being precise, because this is a category where everyone overclaims. The agent behaviour (prompts, tools, models) lives in the hosted voice platform, not in this codebase. What we built is the product experience around it: the site, the motion, and the orchestration that turns a form submission into a live phone call with the right agent, the right voice and the right context attached.

02

On a deliberately new stack

React 19 with the React Compiler enabled, and Turbopack for both development and production builds. A marketing site is a reasonable place to run ahead of the ecosystem, the blast radius of a bleeding-edge toolchain is smallest where the surface is smallest.

03

One thing we'd change

The demo call is currently placed from the browser, which exposes the telephony key to anyone who opens dev tools. An earlier version of this flow ran server-side and should be restored to that shape, the call belongs behind a route handler, with the key on the server. We'd rather list this than let it sit quietly in a repo.
